Job summary

Dewberry is seeking a Highway Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 to join our Mechanicsburg, PA office. This internship offers hands-on project experience and exposure to highway design and urban infrastructure projects.

Local candidates preferred; no housing stipend provided. The role provides opportunities to develop technical skills using AutoCAD/MicroStation and to collaborate with a team of professionals on real client projects.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Experience using AutoCAD or Microstation a plus.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in all facets of highway engineering including design of horizontal and vertical alignments, drainage systems, traffic signal systems, utility relocations, development of maintenance and protection of traffic schemes, and preparation of right-of-way and contract plans for a variety of project types and clients.
