Job summary

Dewberry is seeking a Highway Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 to join our Bloomfield, NJ office. The internship offers hands-on roadway design experience, exposure to CADD software, and the opportunity to apply AASHTO, NJDOT, NJ Turnpike Authority and county design standards.

Responsibilities include design and preparation of contract documents for roadway improvement projects for NJDOT, NJ Turnpike Authority, counties, and other public/private clients.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing BS in Civil Engineering.
• Familiarity with NJDOT and NJ Turnpike Authority design standards and practices.
• Familiarity with AASHTO and MUTCD.
• Proficiency in MS Office software, AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in team environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and prepare contract documents for roadway improvement projects for various clients including the NJDOT, NJ Turnpike Authority, counties, and various other public and private sector clients.
• Apply and reference relevant design standards (AASHTO, NJDOT, NJ Turnpike Authority, county).
• Collaborate with project team to ensure quality and timeliness of deliverables.
