Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Highway Engineer Intern in Newark, Delaware, with a Spring/Summer 2027 start. This hybrid role engages you in transportation projects across Delaware and Pennsylvania, offering hands-on experience in design and analysis.

You will develop roadway alignments, traffic control plans, and construction documents under supervision, using OpenRoads, MicroStation, AutoCAD, and MS Office to create accurate designs and reports.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field with at least 1 year of study completed.
• Graduates planning to pursue a Master’s degree are eligible to apply.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and collaboration abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in roadway alignments, traffic control plans, right-of-way determinations, and utility coordination using Civil design software.
• Support preliminary to final design calculations, plan development, and field information reviews.
• Work in a team, apply technical training to basic calculations, and learn new skills.
