Job summary

Join AECOM’s Transportation team as a Civil Highway Engineering Designer supporting projects across Pennsylvania, Delaware, and West Virginia. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and 4 years of related highway/transportation design experience.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
• Valid US driver’s license for site visits and client meetings.
• Experience with Bentley OpenRoads Designer, MicroStation, AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar design applications.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed and routine engineering assignments for highway and roadway projects.
• Gather and correlate engineering data; identify discrepancies and propose solutions.
• Oversee signing, pavement marking plans, construction phasing, and maintenance of traffic plans.
• Coordinate with other disciplines; identify utility conflicts and resolve issues with client feedback.
• Prepare construction specifications, quantities, cost estimates, technical reports, and 3D models.
• Adhere to QA/QC procedures; complete technical reviews and contribute to project staffing decisions.
• Mentor entry-level engineers and contribute to proposals and presentations for new work.
