Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Civil Highway Engineering Designer to support transportation projects across PA, DE, and WV. The role offers hybrid work options and opportunities to contribute to large-scale design-build interstate projects while mentoring junior engineers and delivering sustainable solutions.

You will use OpenRoads, MicroStation, and AutoCAD Civil 3D, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to advance regional infrastructure improvements and local project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Valid US driver’s license for site visits and meetings.
• Experience with Bentley OpenRoads Designer, MicroStation, or AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed engineering assignments for highway and roadway projects.
• Gather and correlate data; identify discrepancies and propose solutions.
• Oversee signing, pavement marking plans, construction phasing, and maintenance of traffic plans.
• Coordinate with disciplines; resolve issues with client feedback.
• Prepare construction specifications, quantities, cost estimates, reports, and 3D models.
• Adhere to QA/QC procedures; contribute to staffing decisions.
• Mentor entry-level engineers and contribute to proposals and presentations.
• Work independently with minimal supervision and seek process improvements.
