Job summary

Job description

This Highway Data Manager position manages the Illinois Roadway Information System (IRIS) and oversees highway inventory data collection, processing, and analysis for the Illinois Department of Transportation. The role develops data policies and procedures, directs federal data submittals, maintains GIS base layers, and trains staff across central and district offices. The position is based in Springfield and reports to the Bureau of Programming within the Office of Planning Programming.

Key qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in business, mathematics, or computer science plus two years of data management experience, OR eight years of data management experience
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Access, Excel, and ESRI ArcGIS
• Ability to develop custom queries and reports using SQL
• Supervisoryexperience
• Ability to analyze federal and state data regulations
• Valid driver's license
