U.S. Facilities, Inc. seeks a Construction Inspector to oversee highway construction projects in Suffolk, Virginia. The role requires independent coordination, scheduling, and a thorough inspection of all project phases to ensure adherence to plans, specifications, and safety standards.

The Inspector will monitor schedules, review submittals, track quantities and costs, and ensure environmental and safety compliance. A 90-day probation and extensive field work are expected.

Qualifications

• Physical stamina for field conditions and test equipment use.
• Ability to provide work direction to others on construction projects.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
• Proficiency with computers and software applications.
• Ability to read, interpret, and analyze plans and contract documents.
• Knowledge of roadway, structure, and bridge construction methods and terminology.

Responsabilités

• Inspect all phases of highway construction to ensure quality per plans and specs.
• Maintain project files and detailed documentation of changes.
• Monitor safety, traffic controls, and environmental guidelines.
• Coordinate with VDOT, contractors, and public regarding project status.
• Prepare reports and diaries correlating activities with contractor schedule.
• Assist in project close-outs and inspections by other inspectors.
