Job summary

The South Carolina Commission on Higher Education is seeking a Higher Education Policy Analyst to support research on state and national higher education trends, policies, and legislation. The Analyst will prepare briefs and presentations for lawmakers and CHE staff with guidance from leadership and the General Counsel.

• Bachelor’s degree and three years of public administration, business or higher education work experience, or a graduate degree in public administration or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Conducts research on higher education policies, trends, and legislation.
• Produces policy briefs, memos, and presentations for lawmakers, CHE staff and stakeholders.
• Reviews proposed legislation and regulations and summarizes impact on SC higher education.
• Communicates research findings to Commissioners, lawmakers and other stakeholders.
• Collaborates with CHE staff and other offices on statewide higher education policy issues.
