Job summary

The South Carolina Commission on Higher Education seeks a capable Higher Education Policy Analyst to research trends, policies, and legislation affecting public higher education in SC. The Analyst will review actions, assess fiscal impact, and summarize results for legislators and stakeholders.

Working with the General Counsel and PED, the role requires independent, discreet work and timely delivery. Travel and flexibility may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and three years of public administration, business or higher education work experience, or a graduate degree in public administration or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Research higher education trends, policies and legislation and produce deliverables for stakeholders.
• Review and summarize proposed legislation and regulations and assess impact on SC higher education.
• Communicate findings through policy briefs, memos, and presentations to lawmakers and educators.
• Collaborate with CHE staff and cross-functional teams to address key policy issues.
• Respond quickly to information requests and manage assignments with confidentiality.
