Jama Investments in River Falls, WI, seeks a hands-on Kitchen Manager to lead back-of-house operations, including food quality, speed, safety, scheduling, ordering, and cost control. The role is a working manager position with line time during peak hours.

You will hire, train, and develop a厨房团队, manage inventory and vendor relations, and ensure adherence to health codes and safety standards while driving profitability and consistency.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of kitchen management or lead‑cook/supervisor experience in a high‑volume restaurant or bar & grill.
• Proven ability to lead, train, and retain a kitchen team.
• Solid understanding of food cost, labor cost, and inventory management.
• ServeSafe Manager certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days).
• Comfortable in a high-energy, late-night bar environment; nights, weekends, and holidays required.
• Able to stand for 8+ hours and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Run daily kitchen operations across lunch, dinner, and late-night service, ensuring every plate meets our quality and presentation standards.
• Hire, train, schedule, and develop cooks, prep staff, and dishwashers; build a positive, accountable kitchen culture.
• Manage food ordering, receiving, inventory, and vendor relationships; minimize waste and hit food cost targets.
• Maintain consistency on our signature items – fried chicken, wings, house-made sauces, pizzas, and scratch prep.
• Enforce food safety and sanitation standards (health code compliance, temp logs, cleaning schedules).
• Keep equipment maintained and the kitchen organized, stocked, and service-ready.
• Control labor costs through smart scheduling matched to sales volume.
• Partner with ownership and front-of-house management on menu updates, specials, and events.
