Job summary

The Bartender at HMSHost Hawaii Maui Airport is responsible for greeting customers, taking orders, mixing drinks, serving beverages, and completing transactions with a focus on high-quality service. This non-exempt position reports to the store or general manager depending on local requirements.

Essential duties include greeting customers, upselling, following recipes, handling payments, observing alcohol safety, and maintaining a clean, stocked bar in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must meet state minimum age for serving alcoholic beverages.
• At least 1 year of bartending experience, preferably in high-volume or fast casual dining.
• Knowledge of beer, wine, and spirits and their preparation.
• Ability to interact with the public and coworkers in a friendly, enthusiastic way.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and policy documents.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Cash handling and customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and take orders, upsell when possible.
• Follow recipes and directions for beverage preparation.
• Collect payments and operate cash registers according to policies.
• Follow alcohol awareness procedures to prevent intoxication.
• Adhere to HMSHost customer service, beverage and cash handling policies.
• Keep bar clean, sanitized, and well stocked.
