Pike Corporation is seeking a Substation Technician C to perform construction, maintenance and repair of substation equipment with 2-4 years of experience. The role involves work at various locations and may require travel to another state based on customer demands.

Heavy labor, 90% travel, and high safety standards are a core part of the job. Candidates must climb and work at heights up to 125 feet, possess or obtain a Commercial Driver’s License, provide their own hand tools and safety boots,

Qualifications

• Able to perform rigorous physical labor.
• Capable of climbing and working at heights up to 125 feet above ground.
• Possess or obtain a Commercial Drivers’ License.
• Supply own personal hand tools required by the company.
• Supply own safety-toed work boots.
• Capable of lifting in excess of 50 lbs.
• Capable of working in confined spaces/areas.
• Work independently or with others.
• Learn to operate various heavy equipment: bucket, derrick and boom trucks; backhoes, excavators and skid steer loaders; articulating man-lifts; pressure diggers; trenchers; track crawler loader/backhoe; rough terrain telescopic forklifts.
• Willing to work overtime during emergencies; 90% travel required.

Responsibilities

• Works safely while performing construction, maintenance or repair, testing, adjusting and troubleshooting of substation equipment/systems.
• Concretes foundations, ground grids and steel erection; buswork; control cable and terminations.
• Maintain company vehicles, test equipment and tools in good condition.
• Work with energized high voltage systems following safety procedures.
• Follow construction standards, practices, and applicable codes and standards.
• Operate various heavy equipment and work at locations as required.
