Job summary

Jobtailor is hiring an Electrical Technician in California to test, troubleshoot, configure, and commission protective relay and automation systems in HV environments.

The role requires high voltage experience, a relevant engineering degree or two-year EE tech degree with relay experience, and ability to lift heavy equipment while working safely and coordinating with apprentices and other technicians.

Qualifications

• 3 years experience testing protective relay equipment in a power station or HV substation or electrical technician training
• A four year Electrical Engineering degree OR a two year Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology with relay and control experience
• Journeyman Electrical Technician experience with relay and control

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical power switching and test, troubleshoot, and configure remote control and data acquisition systems (SCADA/EMS)
• Test, commission, and maintain protective relays and automation/control systems
• Direct and train apprentices, coordinate with other technicians, and document test results
