Job summary

Premier Power Maintenance is seeking an experienced field technician to perform electrical and mechanical tasks on equipment used in power transmission, distribution, and generation at customer facilities.

The role requires reading manuals and schematics to troubleshoot, performing transformer and cable testing, and supporting installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment. Overtime, nights, and travel to sites are expected, with a strong emphasis on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED; bachelor’s/associate in electrical/electronic tech preferred.
• Experience with electrical substation testing, construction, maintenance, troubleshooting, assembly, and commissioning preferred but not required.
• Goal: achieve NETA II certification within scope of role.

Responsibilities

• Execute mechanical and electrical tasks on equipment used in power transmission, distribution, and generation at customer facilities.
• Read and interpret manuals, schematics, and diagrams to troubleshoot and solve equipment problems.
• Troubleshoot, repair, replace, and clean components in a substation.
• Assist/lead transformer testing (power factor, TTR, insulation resistance, SFRA, winding resistance, partial discharge, leakage reactance).
• Perform cable testing (insulation resistance, tan delta, hipot, TDR, partial discharge, cable thumper).
• Participate in installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment.
• Understand relays (electrical-mechanical and solid-state) and participate in safety meetings.
