Job summary

Shermco Industries in Denver is seeking a NETA III/IV Field Service Technician to inspect, test, troubleshoot and start‑up high‑voltage electrical systems at customer sites. You will perform transformer tests, relay testing, switchgear and circuit breaker testing, and data collection for equipment from 480 V to 600 kV.

The role requires local driving, periodic overnight travel, possible on‑call duties, and flexibility for evenings or weekends.

Qualifications

Must be able to drive daily locally/regionally and be available for periodic overnight travel.
Occasional emergency on-call and after-hours work may be required.
ABET-accredited EE degree or EPC-related 2-year degree or military training accepted.
NETA Certification (I, II, III or IV) or similar desired.
Minimum 2+ years' experience with switchgear testing and troubleshooting.
Strong PC skills; Excel and data entry; familiarity with test data collection.

Responsibilities

Travel to customer sites to inspect, test and troubleshoot HV electrical systems.
Perform instrument transformer and power transformer tests; relay testing.
Test electro-mechanical and solid-state relays; test switchgear and circuit breakers.
Conduct cable testing and automatic transfer switch troubleshooting.
Maintain on-call duties and respond to customer emergencies promptly.
