Job summary

Shermco Industries is seeking a NETA III/IV Field Service Technician based in Denver, CO. The role travels to customer sites to inspect, test, troubleshoot, and collect data on electrical systems from 480 V to 600 kV.

You will perform transformer and relay testing, cable tests, and automatic transfer switch troubleshooting, with opportunities for on-call emergency responses. Strong safety compliance and 75+ mile residency near Denver preferred.

Qualifications

Must be able to drive daily locally/regionally and travel overnight.
Occasional emergency response, on-call, evenings/weekends/holidays.
Prefer an Associate's degree from ABET EPC or an EE degree; military training acceptable.
NETA Certification (I–IV) or similar desired; 2+ years switchgear testing experience.

Responsibilities

Inspect, test, troubleshoot, start-up, and collect data on low-, medium-, and high-voltage electrical systems at customer sites.
Instrument transformer tests and power transformer testing (Doble, TTR, insulation resistance).
Test electro-mechanical and solid-state relays; test cables (Tan Delta, Power Factor, VLF, DC Hipot).
Troubleshoot automatic transfer switches and switchgear; calibrate relays and meters.
Rotate on-call duties and respond to emergencies as needed.
