Job summary

PURE Insurance is seeking a Risk Manager to perform independent risk assessments for high-value homes and support underwriting and loss prevention decisions. This remote role involves extensive travel across the Western United States, with preferred bases near major airports and locations such as Phoenix, AZ.

You will interact directly with members, interpret findings, and recommend mitigation strategies that influence exposure and coverage decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred but not required; relevant field experience is highly valued.
• 3+ years of experience as a Risk Manager at an insurance carrier, or in a related insurance role with exposure to property risk assessment and broader risk management practices.
• OR 5+ years of experience in high-value home construction, skilled trades, home inspection, appraisal, or related field.
• Strong interpersonal and oral and written communication skills are a must.
• Demonstrated ability to apply independent judgment and discretion in complex situations.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
• Professional, trustworthy and passionate about helping others.
• Ability and willingness to travel extensively throughout the Western United States.

Responsibilities

• Perform PURE 360 Risk assessments across regions, evaluating varied property conditions and environmental factors.
• Analyze findings to assess loss probability and severity, using professional judgment to determine recommendations.
• Recommend loss prevention strategies with practical solutions and prioritized actions.
• Assess property conditions and replacement cost considerations; identify risk factors and exposure significance for underwriting and loss exposure.
• Partner with Underwriting and internal stakeholders to provide risk insights supporting decisions.
• Evaluate site conditions and risk factors using geographic and peril-specific knowledge.
• Operate independently in the field with flexible approaches based on property conditions.
• Travel regularly throughout the Western United States to conduct in-home assessments and engage with members.
• Clearly communicate assessment results, rationale, and potential risk implications.
• Represent the PURE brand in members' homes with credibility, care, and professionalism.
