Job summary

Gott’s Roadside in Santa Monica is seeking a Line Cook to prepare high-quality dishes and maintain an organized kitchen station. You will work closely with kitchen staff to ensure professionalism, cooperation, and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires excellent cooking skills, adherence to safety and sanitation standards, and the ability to follow recipes and Gott’s guidelines. CA Food Handlers Certification is required, and weekend/holiday work is expected.

Qualifications

• Prior kitchen experience preferred.
• Must wear close-toed, non-slip shoes.
• CA Food Handlers Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food according to recipe and restaurant specifications in a timely and efficient manner.
• Complete opening and closing checklists and assist others in opening/closing the kitchen.
• Portion food products prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specs.
• Follow manager directions to manage all aspects of the station.
• Set up station according to SOPs and prep lists for service.
• Prep food products for shift using FIFO and quality checks to prevent waste.
• Perform correct cooking techniques in Gott’s guidelines.
• Communicate with line staff, managers and front of house to ensure proper timing.
• Follow Gott’s procedures for preventing cross-contamination with allergies.
