Job summary

Rondo Energy seeks a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to advance high-temperature systems at our Alameda HQ. You will design components and assemblies for temperatures up to 1500°C, and drive rapid prototyping to validate concepts quickly.

You will perform FEA and 1D thermal analyses, apply GD&T and tolerance stack‑ups, integrate high‑temperature sensors, and lead design reviews with cross‑functional teams. This on‑site role includes equity and a strong SF Bay Area salary.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 3–5 years of mechanical design experience from concept through production.
• Proficiency in FEA and 1D thermal analysis; CFD a plus.
• Strong fundamentals in GD&T and tolerance stack-ups.
• Design experience with high-temperature materials and thermal‑mechanical systems.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design components, assemblies, and systems for high temperatures up to 1500°C.
• Conduct FEA and 1D thermal and fluid analysis; support FMEA activities.
• Drive rapid prototyping and fast build-test-learn iterations.
• Apply GD&T and tolerance stack-up analyses to critical features.
• Integrate high-temperature measurement devices and sensors with engineers.
• Utilize CAD and PLM software (SolidWorks preferred) for design and documentation.
• Formulate subsystem requirements and prepare supplier documentation.
• Lead and participate in design reviews and cross-functional scheduling.
