Job summary

Deer Creek School District is seeking a head coach to organize and supervise its total sports program. The role demands proven coaching success, deep technical sport knowledge, and continual study of new coaching theories and procedures.

The head coach reports to the athletic director and works with high school principals to lead staff and student athletes toward competitive success and strong character development.

Qualifications

• Has the ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
• Has previous successful coaching experience in assigned sport.
• The head coach must have substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport.
• The head coach must examine new theories and procedures pertinent to the field.
• The head coach must serve as a role model for student athletes through instruction and actions.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and implement athletic policies approved by the Board of Education.
• Coordinate with athletic director and principals for staff and program.
• Train staff, design conferences, clinics, and staff meetings for program awareness.
• Mentor student athletes to develop character, discipline, and confidence.
• Assist in scheduling, transportation, and tournament requirements.
• Maintain equipment, inventory, and facility security.
• Promote the sport within and outside the school through outreach and media.
