Job summary

Deer Creek School District seeks a head coach to lead and supervise a comprehensive athletic program. The candidate will organize activities, mentor a staff of coaches, and ensure high standards of skill and character development among student athletes.

The role requires substantial coaching knowledge, successful experience in the assigned sport, and the ability to model exemplary conduct for students, in alignment with athletic department objectives.

Qualifications

• Has the ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
• Has previous successful coaching experience in assigned sport (major sports).
• Must have substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport.
• Must serve as an appropriate role model for student athletes through his/her instructions and actions.

Responsibilities

• Organize athletic program scheduling, travel, and tournament logistics.
• Coordinate coaching staff and supervise high school and middle school coaches.
• Instruct athletes in fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training for success.
• Foster discipline, sportsmanship, and character development among student athletes.
• Maintain equipment, budgets, and facilities within program guidelines.
• Promote the sport to students and the community; communicate with athletic director/principal.
