Job summary

IDEA Public Schools in Texas is seeking a dedicated College Prep Teacher to ensure students master core academics and social skills for college success. You will set ambitious goals, develop daily lesson plans, and track progress to drive achievement.

The role includes rigorous standards, collaboration with families, and opportunities for tuition reimbursement and family benefits. A Bachelor's degree and K-12 teaching experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High level of content-area proficiency evidenced by teaching certification, field of study, or work-experience (strongly preferred).
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adjust and adapt to a multitude of situations in the school environment.

Responsibilities

• Implement state learning standards and IDEA curricula and assessments to meet ambitious academic expectations.
• Deliver content and grade level curriculum and texts.
• Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance for feedback.
• Track progress with assessments and update gradebook weekly.
• Communicate students’ progress with students and families weekly.
• Utilize technology to improve student achievement and manage tasks.
• Maintain a consistent behavior management system aligned to campus initiatives.
• Help shape a school-wide culture that fosters a productive learning environment.
• Build cooperative relationships with students and families based on trust and respect.
• Host tutoring sessions as needed to meet student needs.
• Participate in weekly manager check-ins and school-wide activities.
• Engage in ongoing professional learning and development.
• Work a minimum of 40+ hours per week.
• Additional after-school tutoring or Saturday school as needed.
