Job summary

Community Workforce Solutions in North Carolina seeks a High School Pre-Employment Transition Instructor to lead engaging classroom sessions for students with disabilities. You will design lessons to prepare them for employment, education, independent living, and lifelong success while building relationships with schools and community partners.

You will deliver Pre-ETS across five areas, adapt to diverse learners, travel between Onslow County high schools, and maintain detailed program records

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Exceptional Children, Education, Rehabilitation, or related field preferred (equivalent experience considered).
• Experience teaching, training, or facilitating instruction.
• Valid North Carolina driver's license and ability to travel between school sites.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver engaging instruction for high school students (ages 14–22) in Pre-ETS.
• Cover the five Pre-ETS areas: Job exploration, work-based learning, workplace readiness, self-advocacy, and postsecondary counseling.
• Adapt instruction for diverse learning styles and maintain program records and documentation.
• Travel between multiple high schools in Onslow County and collaborate with schools and partners.

Job Type: Full-Time | 10-Month Position

Pay: $22.00/hour

Community Workforce Solutions is seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Pre-Employment Transition (Pre-ETS) Instructor to lead engaging classroom instruction for high school students with disabilities.

In this role, you'll design and deliver lessons that prepare students for employment, post-secondary education, independent living, and lifelong success while building meaningful relationships with students, schools, and community partners throughout Onslow County.

What You'll Do

• Design and deliver engaging instruction for students ages 14-22 participating in Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS)
• Teach lessons focused on the five required areas of Pre-ETS:
  • Job Exploration Counseling
  • Work-Based Learning Experiences
  • Workplace Readiness Training
  • Instruction in Self-Advocacy
  • Postsecondary Education Counseling
• Adapt instruction to meet a variety of learning styles and student needs
• Foster student confidence, independence, and workplace readiness
• Collaborate with facilitators, school personnel, and community partners
• Travel between multiple high schools throughout Onslow County
• Maintain documentation and program records

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Exceptional Children, Education, Rehabilitation, or a relatedfield preferred (equivalent experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities will be considered)
• Experience teaching, training, or facilitating instruction
• Excellentcommunication and classroom management skills
• Valid North Carolina driver's license with a driving record that meets agency standards
• Ability to travel between school sites throughout Onslow County
• Ability to successfully complete a background check and drug screening
