Job summary

The ideal candidate holds a Michigan Math endorsement, with experience in intervention, credit recovery, or online/hybrid learning, and is proficient with Excel and student data systems.

Qualifications

• Valid Michigan teaching certificate with Math endorsement (6-12 or secondary).
• Familiarity with online learning platforms, especially Edgenuity, or willingness to be trained.
• Proven ability to tutor and support students across high school grade levels (9-12). Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with diverse student populations. Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and student data systems.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and take initiative.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic support and tutoring to students in grades 9-12, both in person and online, with a focus on Math content and related coursework.
• Monitor attendance and coursework completion for a designated grade-level cohort, using data systems and online platforms.
• Take and maintain attendance records based on student engagement and coursework progress.
• Actively participate in weekly Student Progress Meetings to discuss student needs and plan targeted interventions.
• Collaborate closely with teachers, counselors, and administrators to implement individualized support strategies.
• Leverage online systems such as Enginuity to track student progress and assist with virtual instruction.
• Build positive relationships with students to foster academic motivation, consistency, and accountability.
• Use Microsoft Excel and other data tracking tools to manage and report on student progress and intervention effectiveness.
• Demonstrate the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team focused on student achievement.
• Function as a self-starter, capable of managing a flexible schedule and adapting support based on student needs.
• Assist with the administration and coordination of both state and local testing, including preparation, proctoring, and follow-up tasks.
• Ensure compliance with testing protocols and timelines, supporting accurate and efficient test implementation.
