• Bachelor's Degree (English preferred)
• Ability to develop rapport with students and maintain good relations with teachers
• References indicating required skills
• Ability to carry out directions in oral and written form
• Various life/work experiences that contribute to preparedness; prior experience with school-aged children is a plus

Responsibilities

• Works with teams of teachers to monitor student progress in English classes and designs interventions for those in need
• Joins teachers' team meetings to support curriculum development and identify instructional support opportunities
• Assists Social Studies teachers with differentiated activities in their classrooms
• Provides individual or small group tutorials for students assigned by classroom teachers or who drop in for tutoring
• Works with department leader to promote self-direction, reflection, and ownership of writing process
• Participates in relevant professional development
