Job summary

Job Corps seeks an Academic Instructor for the High School Equivalency program at the Quentin Burdick Center in Minot, ND. The role focuses on planning and delivering instruction aligned to learning goals within a residential career-technical training setting.

You will collaborate with fellow instructors, adapt teaching to student needs, and use data-driven methods to improve outcomes while integrating CSS and employability skills. A Bachelor’s degree is required.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with colleagues.
• Demonstrates knowledge and experience implementing best practices in instruction.
• Has knowledge and experience using a variety of assessment tools and analyzing student data.
• Collaborates with teacher teams, co-teaches lessons, and does demonstration teaching.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare instructional tasks that are meaningful and related to learning goals and provide instruction to students.
• Promote a safe, positive classroom environment conducive to learning and motivation.
• Integrate math, reading, and writing concepts with employability and CSS skills in lesson planning.
• Develop and implement curriculum and TARs to meet Center and DOL goals.
• Administer and document progress and prepare TARs and ESPs as required.
