Job summary

Manteo High School is seeking an Exceptional Children (EC) Instructional Assistant to support students in grades 9–12. The role focuses on helping students with disabilities develop academic, behavioral, social, and independent-living skills for success in high school and beyond.

The successful candidate will collaborate with EC and general education teachers, related service providers, and administrators to provide individualized support in accordance with IEPs.

Qualifications

• Experience providing instructional support to students with disabilities.
• Familiarity with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Ability to work with teachers and staff to support student growth.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional support to students individually and in small groups.
• Reinforce academic skills and instructional strategies under teacher direction.
• Support students with organization, executive functioning, and communication.
• Assist with data collection and documentation of student progress and IEP goals.
• Maintain student confidentiality and professionalism.
