East Mecklenburg High School is seeking an Exceptional Children Teacher Assistant to support EC students and assist the assigned teacher in delivering instructional services under supervision.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or 48 college credits required.
  • WorkKeys assessment option available or equivalent training.
  • Completion of NC DOL Teacher Assistant Apprenticeship Program preferred.
  • Experience with EC students is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist EC students individually or in small groups.
  • Support classroom instructional activities as directed by the teacher.
  • Supervise students in various school settings (classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, yard).
  • Prepare materials and displays for lessons and classroom activities.
  • Assist with attendance, record-keeping, and organization of learning spaces.
  • Assist with daily bus, car, and van transportation duties.
  • Support and supervise during drills, field trips, and off-campus activities.
