Job summary

Idlewild Elementary is seeking an Exceptional Children Extensions Teacher Assistant to support EC students under teacher supervision. The role involves small-group instruction, progress data collection, and assisting with classroom activities to help students meet IEP goals. This is a full-time 9-month position based in Charlotte, NC.

The assistant will work closely with teachers to reinforce concepts, supervise students, and participate in drills and school events as required.

Qualifications

• Experience assisting EC students with instruction and routines.
• Ability to reinforce learning concepts under teacher guidance.
• Experience with IEP goals and progress documentation.

Responsibilities

• Assist children individually or in small groups to help them master assignments.
• Supervise students in classrooms, halls, and other areas.
• Collect data to document progress toward IEP goals.
• Prepare lesson materials and classroom displays as needed.
• Support with attendance, recordkeeping, and organization of spaces.
• Assist with daily bus and transportation duties when required.
