Job summary

Avenue Scholars seeks a High School Career Coach to work at a partner high school and in the Avenue Scholars office. You will recruit students, coach them through junior and senior years, teach the program curriculum, and coordinate with families, school staff, and employers to help Scholars prepare for college or career.

You will use Salesforce, Zoom, and Canvas to track progress, support academic and career goals, and ensure wrap-around services align with program objectives across two

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required in education, human services, workforce development, or a related field.
• Nebraska educator’s certificate or permit with a secondary-level endorsement (or eligibility) required.
• 2+ years of experience in education, human services, or workforce development required.
• 2+ years of experience working with youth ages 16–22 preferred.
• Bilingual skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Recruits each year’s new class of around 30 Scholars at the partner high school.
• Teaches the Avenue Scholars curriculum and leads hands-on lessons.
• Coaches Scholars one-on-one and monitors grades, attendance, and well‑being.
• Plans and leads summer activities to keep Scholars connected between years.
• Builds relationships with partner school staff and administrators.
• Connects Scholars with internal teams and community resources.
• Uses Salesforce, Zoom, and Canvas to stay in contact and record progress.
• Takes on other projects and duties as needed.
