Job summary

The Oxford Hills School District is seeking an outstanding candidate for the position of High School Boys Assistant Soccer Coach at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School.

The successful candidate will coach boys' soccer, plan practices, ensure student safety, and work closely with the Athletic Director to schedule contests and develop athletes both on and off the field.

This one-year role emphasizes student growth, sportsmanship, and adherence to district policies and coaching ethics.

Qualifications

• Successful coaching experience preferred
• CPR, AFEP Coaching Principles and Sport First Aid Courses or equivalent
• At least 20 years of age
• Must be approved by the Oxford Hills School District
• Must sign a statement stating that he/she has read and understands and agrees to comply with all MPA By-Laws, policies and Code of Ethics.

Responsibilities

• Supports the District's mission and goals.
• Coaches individual participants in the skills necessary for excellent achievement in the sport involved.
• Plans and schedules a regular program of practice in season.
• Works closely with the Athletic Director in scheduling intramural and/or interscholastic contests.
• Recommends purchase of equipment, supplies and uniform, as appropriate.
• Maintains necessary attendance forms, insurance records and similar paperwork.
• Oversees the safety conditions of the facility or area in which assigned sport is conducted at all times that students are present.
• Establishes performance criteria for eligibility in interscholastic competition in his/her sport.
• Enforces discipline and sportsmanlike behavior at all times, and establishes and oversees penalties for breach of such standards by individual students.
• Meets with parents, the news media, booster groups and youth organizations to improve public relations and encourages support for the sport and other athletic activities.
• Carries out procedures for the prevention, care and treatment of athletic injuries.
• Assumes such other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Athletic Director.
