Qualifications

• Special Education endorsement required.
• Successful teaching experience in related subject areas and/or grade level preferred; if no prior experience, successful student teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Fosters an educational environment conducive to the learning and maturation process of assigned students; plans an instructional program designed to meet individual student needs and the whole group.
• Differentiates instruction to address individual student needs.
• Collaborates with classroom teachers on strategies for behavioral intervention for students.
• Communicates with specialists to address student needs, issues, and progress.
• Maintains classroom discipline and uses effective management processes.
• Confer with students, parents or guardians, and other staff to provide guidance and evaluation and encourage student growth.
