Job summary

CAPITOL REGION EDUCATION COUNCIL's High Schools are seeking a High School Faculty Manager to assist the administration in the daily operation and management of the school athletic program.

You will appoint and support coaches, monitor programs, ensure compliance with CIAC and NFHS rules, coordinate facility readiness, and communicate with staff, parents, and students to foster a successful, safe, and engaging athletic environment.

Responsibilities

• Appoint, maintain, and support competent and knowledgeable coaches.
• Encourage regular participation in professional development opportunities for coaches.
• Monitor all coaches in a fair and thorough manner.
• Encourage participation of all student-athletes and coaches in community service.
• Monitor all sports programs at the school, including coaches, student-athletes, facilities, and equipment.
• Hold formal conferences with coaches at the end of each season to discuss strengths and areas for improvement.
• Keep track of equipment and uniforms and replace anyLost items.
• Monitor the eligibility of student-athletes and ensure ineligible athletes are not playing in practices or games.
• Ensure coaches are certified (CPR, First-Aid, Modules, etc.) and forward this information to the Athletic Director.
• Ensure fields, gyms, and tracks are ready for competition well before events.
• Be present at home contests or have a designee; coordinate for neutral-site games.
• Monitor transportation and ensure proper student paperwork for travel home.
• Monitor practices to ensure proper protocol and active student-athletes.
• Coordinate with the school nurse on health forms, equipment, and emergency contacts.
• Submit paperwork requested by the Athletic Director by deadlines.
• Update CIAC website within 24 hours of contest or change.
• Respond to voicemails and emails from the Athletic Director promptly.
• Maintain communication with the custodian, time keeper, bill payer, and security guard.
• Stay in communication with the principal and coaches throughout the year.
• Encourage parental involvement in sports programs through fundraising, volunteering, and other activities.
• Promote an exciting sports environment within the school.
• Find ways to keep full rosters and competitive throughout the season.
• Motivate coaches and promote a shared vision.
• Actively recruit coaches before the athletics season begins.
• Identify facilities when needed.
• Keep CIAC website and MaxPreps rosters, schedules, results, and statistics current.
