CAPITOL REGION EDUCATION COUNCIL in Hartford, CT, is seeking Middle School Faculty Managers to assist in the daily operation and management of the school athletic program. • Fair and thorough monitoring of coaches and athletes
• Strong communication with Athletic Director and school staff

Responsibilities

• Appoint, maintain, and support competent coaches
• Encourage regular participation in professional development opportunities for coaches
• Monitor all coaches in a fair and thorough manner
• Encourage participation of all student-athletes and coaches in community service
• Monitor all sports programs including coaches, athletes, facilities, and equipment
• Hold formal conferences with coaches after each season to discuss strengths and improvements
• Keep track of equipment and uniforms and replace lost items
• Monitor athlete eligibility to ensure only eligible students participate
• Ensure coaches are CPR/First-Aid certified and documentation is shared with the Athletic Director
• Ensure facilities are ready for competition well before events
• Be present at home contests or arrange coverage for away/neutral sites
• Coordinate transportation paperwork for students
• Monitor practices to ensure proper protocol and student activity
• Collaborate with the school nurse on health forms and emergency contacts
• Complete and submit paperwork requested by the Athletic Director on deadlines
• Update CIAC website within 24 hours of contests or changes
• Respond promptly to voicemails and emails from the Athletic Director
• Maintain communication with custodians, timekeepers, bill payers, and security
• Stay in touch with the principal and coaches throughout the year
• Encourage parental involvement and support for sports programs
• Promote a positive, exciting sports environment in the school
• Develop strategies to maintain full rosters and long seasons
• Recruit coaches to fill vacancies before the season starts
• Identify facilities when needed
• Keep CIAC and MaxPreps rosters up to date
