Job summary

3M is seeking a Boiler Operator to join our global team. You will operate high pressure boilers and related equipment, switching fuel sources during curtailments and supporting maintenance for utility plant assets.

Responsibilities include logkeeping, equipment monitoring, and ensuring safety and compliance with boiler codes. The role requires a Minnesota 1st Class A Engineer license or higher and a minimum of 3 years of boiler operation experience.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required (completed and verified).
  • State of Minnesota 1st Class A Engineer license or higher required.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience operating high pressure boilers.
  • Ability to work weekends, rotating shifts, overtime, holidays as needed.
  • Must stay current on boiler operating codes and Minnesota Engineer license.

Responsibilities

  • Operate high pressure boilers and related auxiliary equipment including switching fuel sources.
  • Operate electric and steam turbine chillers and related auxiliary equipment.
  • Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on Utility Plant equipment including boilers, steam condensers, heat exchangers, cooling towers, pumps and fans.
  • Maintain logbooks and recordkeeping.
