Job summary

Regions Bank is hiring a Mortgage Loan Officer to direct residential mortgage loan origination through a branch network in Louisiana. The role requires one year of mortgage lending experience, strong sales and relationship-building skills, and the ability to develop external referral partnerships.

Responsibilities include submitting applications, evaluating requests, and structuring loans to meet regulatory requirements. The position is commission-based and located in New Orleans, LA.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of mortgage lending experience with proven production.
• Experience developing external business via referral partners (realtors, builders, financial planners).
• Bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Completes mortgage applications for submission to loan processing and underwriting.
• Evaluates loan requests, analyzes financial data, and determines qualification of collateral and customer credit history.
• Maintains contact with loan customers, communicates progress, and collects required documents.
• Structures loans to comply with lending practices and regulations.
• Develops detailed marketing plans including potential customers and frequency of contact.
• Answers customer calls and walk-in customers about loan products and qualification information.
• Makes sales calls to develop new business or retain existing business.
• Cross-sells other bank products and services.
• Reads surveys and appraisals and addresses encroachments/violations as needed.
• Participates in networking to promote loan products.
