Job summary

Carter Lumber is seeking an Outside Sales Representative to build and maintain strong relationships with local contractors, builders, and remodelers in the Charleston area. You will sell our full line of building materials and services, manage the post-sale relationship, and visit job sites as needed.

The role offers salary plus uncapped commission and room for growth. Ideal candidates bring sales experience, knowledge of home-building basics, and the ability to read blueprints.

Qualifications

• Experience in sales and building materials is preferred.
• Knowledge of home building basics and materials is required.
• Ability to create estimates/quotes and special orders.
• Ability to open new accounts on a monthly/quarterly basis.
• Ability to read blueprints and provide material take offs.
• Capable of working independently with strong planning skills.
• Excellent organization and multitasking abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
• Willingness to attend industry events as needed.

Responsibilities

• Find and close sales of our full line of building materials and installed services.
• Manage the created job and maintain client relationships after sale.
• Visit job sites as needed and keep client information up to date.
• Maintain schedules and respond to project needs; communicate with teams.
• Develop and implement proven sales strategies; maintain follow-through and communication.
