Job description

We are hiring for CNA's (certified nursing assistants) or HHA's (certificate) for home care visits, traveling to different homes in the Hartford area.

Job Summary

The Home and Community Based Services Aide provides support and assistance with personal hygiene and household functions for individuals to remain in their own homes.

Specific Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • May provide or assist clients with activities of daily living including bathing in bed, tub, or shower; care of hair including shampoo, combing, and brushing; care of teeth and mouth including denture care; nail care, filing only; skin care including peri care and applying lotion; transfer of patient from bed to chair and to wheelchair; transfer of patients on and off bedpan, commode, and toilet.
  • Reports observations of the client's condition to the agency director or accounts manager.
  • Drives safely, complies with traffic regulations, and wears a seat belt when business travel is required.
  • Assists with household tasks directly essential to clients' personal care.

Experience Desired

  • Six months experience in personal care or home community-based services preferred.

License Requirements

  • Current driver's license, vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle or public transportation.
  • Active CT CNA or HHA Certification (Must have completed a training program approved by the state of Connecticut of not less than 75 hours).

Skill / Availability Requirements

  • Willingness to work flexible schedules based on patient and agency needs.
  • Ability to function competently and professionally in any home situation regardless of protected status including but not limited to age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition of the patient.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Good communication, writing, and organizational skills.
