Responsibilities

Job Summary

The Home and Community-Based Services Aide provides support, assistance with personal hygiene, and household functions to enable individuals to remain in their own homes.

Specific Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Reports observations of the client's condition to the Agency Director or accounts manager. Immediately notifies the Agency Director of any incidents or accidents.
  • Drives safely, complies with traffic regulations, and wears a seat belt during business travel.
  • May assist clients with activities of daily living such as bathing, hair care, oral care, nail care, skin care, and transferring patients from bed to chair or wheelchair.
  • Transfers patients on and off bedpans, commodes, and toilets.
  • Assists with household tasks directly related to clients' personal care.
Education and Experience

Experience Desired

  • Six months of experience in personal care or home-based services preferred.

License Requirements

  • Current driver's license, vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle or public transportation.
  • Active CT CNA or HHA Certification (must have completed a state-approved training program of at least 75 hours).
Skill / Availability Requirements
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules based on patient and agency needs.
  • Ability to work independently and professionally in any home situation, regardless of protected status.
  • Good communication, writing, and organizational skills.
