Job summary

Dennis Eagle seeks a proactive HGV Technician to join our Aftermarket team. This hands-on role involves maintaining and repairing refuse collection vehicles to the highest standards, ensuring safety, compliance, and customer satisfaction every step of the way.

Hours are 45 per week, with shifts between 12:00 and 00:00, Monday to Thursday. NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance and proven experience are preferred; travel and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance.
• Proven experience in commercial vehicle repair and servicing.
• Strong diagnostic and fault‑finding skills.
• Understanding of electronics, hydraulics, and wiring diagrams.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including overtime.
• Experience with electric vehicles, IRTEC qualification, or HGV Class 2 licence is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on chassis and mounted equipment.
• Service vehicles to VOSA standards and prepare them for MOT inspections.
• Complete body and chassis repairs and ensure compliance with Department of Transport specifications.
• Maintain accurate records and enter job details into company systems.
• Liaise professionally with customers and work independently at customer sites.
• Ensure all work is completed efficiently and to company standards.
• Follow health and safety procedures and conduct risk assessments where required.
• Undertake training to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
