Job summary

Dennis Eagle is seeking an experienced Workshop Manager to oversee repair and maintenance contracts across Bridgwater and Williton. You will lead the day-to-day workshop operations, support the engineering team and ensure vehicles are maintained safely and to required standards.

The role requires experience in managing a commercial vehicle workshop, strong leadership and a solid understanding of health and safety compliance.

Qualifications

  • Experience managing a commercial vehicle workshop or similar operation.
  • Knowledge of commercial vehicle servicing, diagnostics and repairs.
  • Experience supporting and motivating a team.
  • A good understanding of health and safety and workshop compliance.
  • Relevant motor industry and management qualifications.
  • Strong communication, customer service and organisational skills.
  • A full driving licence.

Responsibilities

  • Managing the daily workshop operation across both sites.
  • Supporting and organising the engineering team.
  • Ensuring servicing, inspections, repairs and MOTs are completed on time.
  • Monitoring vehicle availability and workshop performance.
  • Maintaining accurate job, cost and compliance records.
  • Managing stock, timesheets, holidays, absence and training.
  • Completing safety inspections and operational reports.
  • Building strong relationships with customers, suppliers and colleagues.

Job description

Role: Workshop Manager (Managing Contract Engineer)

Hours: 45 hpw, 9 hours per day between 06:00 and 18:00 Monday to Friday

Salary: up to £52,591 pa DOE

We’re looking for an experienced Workshop Manager to oversee our repair and maintenance contracts across Bridgwater and Williton. You’ll lead the day-to-day workshop operation, support the engineering team and ensure vehicles are maintained safely, efficiently and to the required standard.
