Job summary

Dennis Eagle is seeking a Field Service Engineer for a mobile role across the UK. You will diagnose faults, service vehicles, and prepare for MOT inspections, using diagnostic tools and logging work in PDA software.

You will travel to customer sites, maintain safety standards, and deliver excellent customer service. The role requires NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance, with flexibility to travel and work independently.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Service & Maintenance.
• Previous experience in Field Service or HGV Mechanic roles.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Knowledge of vehicle technology systems and compliance standards.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Willingness to travel across the UK.
• General computer literacy and ability to complete technical documentation.
• Experience with electric vehicles or IRTEC/HGV2 is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair faults on vehicle chassis and mounted equipment.
• Carry out servicing and maintenance to a high standard.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT inspections and ensure DOT compliance.
• Use diagnostic software and tools to identify and resolve issues.
• Log all work using PDA software and maintain service records.
• Travel to customer sites across the UK, sometimes on short notice.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times.
• Communicate clearly with customers and provide excellent service.
• Support health and safety practices and complete risk assessments as required.
