Job summary

AOIA is seeking a Board-certified or Board-eligible pathologist specializing in Hematopathology to join our University of Miami affiliated pathology service. The candidate will perform diagnostic hematopathology and contribute to teaching residents, fellows, and medical students, with involvement in clinical and translational research.

Responsibilities span patient care at UMH, Jackson Memorial Hospital and satellites, microscopic evaluation of hematologic specimens, and active participation in

Qualifications

• Must be an MD or DO licensed to practice in Florida.
• Board certification or eligibility in AP, CP, or both with Hematopathology.
• Licensed to practice medicine in the State of Florida.

Responsibilities

• Patient care services at UMH, JMH and satellites and at Sylvester Cancer Center and satellites.
• Microscopic examinations of hematologic specimens and reporting findings.
• 24 hours call coverage according to assigned division/s.
• Participate in educational activities of pathology residents and fellows.
• Participate in educational activities of medical students.
• Collaborate in research and seek grants and contracts.
• Participate in daily quality assurance and hospital committees.
• Maintain compliance with JCAHO/CAP/CLIA accreditation.
