Job summary

The University of Miami Health System is seeking a pathologist specialized in hematopathology for a full-time faculty appointment at UMH/JMH and affiliated centers in Miami, Florida. The role includes patient care, diagnostic work, and active teaching of residents and medical students.

The candidate should hold an MD or DO, be board-certified in Anatomic and/or Clinical Pathology, with additional qualifications in Hematopathology, and be licensed to practice in Florida.

Qualifications

• Must be an M.D or D.O. who is Board Certified or Board eligible in Anatomic Pathology, Clinical Pathology, or both with additional Board Certification or eligibility in Hematopathology.
• Must be licensed to practice medicine in the State of Florida.
• Experience with quality improvement methods and a team-based model; ability to enhance communication and relations in a diverse professional workforce.

Responsibilities

• Patient care services at UMH, JMH and satellites.
• Microscopic examinations of hematologic specimens and reporting findings.
• 24 hours call coverage according to assigned division(s).
• Service productivity per the departmental compensation plan.
• Participate in educational activities of pathology residents and fellows.
• Participate in educational activities of medical students.
• Collaborate in research and seek sponsored program funding.
• Participate in daily quality assurance and hospital committees and working groups.
• Maintain high standards to sustain JCAHO/CAP/CLIA accreditation.
