Job summary

The University of Miami seeks a highly qualified hematopathologist to join our pathology faculty. The candidate must be M.D. or D.O., board certified/eligible in Anatomic Pathology and/or Clinical Pathology, with Hematopathology expertise.

Florida medical licensure is required, and a track record in teaching and research is expected. Responsibilities include patient care across UMH, Jackson Memorial Hospital, and affiliates, hematology consultations, and participation in education and quality

Qualifications

• Must be an M.D or D.O. board certified/eligible in Anatomic Pathology, Clinical Pathology, or both.
• Licensed to practice medicine in the State of Florida.
• Strong general knowledge in Hematopathology and quality improvement methods using a team-based model.
• Committed to teaching residents, fellows, medical students, and engaging in peer-reviewed research.
• Knowledge of JCAHO, CAP and CLIA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care services at UMH, JMH and satellites including hematology specimens.
• Perform microscopic examinations of hematologic specimens and report findings.
• 24 hours call coverage as assigned.
• Participate in educational activities of pathology residents, fellows and medical students.
• Engage in collaborative research and seek grant funding where possible.
• Help maintain JCAHO/CAP/CLIA accreditation.
