The role involves comprehensive patient evaluations, care coordination, and education of residents and students in a hospital setting. Applicants should have a Master’s in Nursing or PA degree, national certification, and WV licensure or eligibility, plus BLS and ALS as required by the department.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CCNE accredited nursing program with Master’s Degree in Nursing.
• National Certification by one of the recognized APRN Certification Centers.
• Licensure or eligibility for licensure as a professional Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in West Virginia.
• American Heart Association BLS Certification required with additional Advanced Life Support training at the discretion of the department.

Responsibilities

• The APP completes comprehensive patient health evaluations in hematology/oncology including biological, social, and psychological assessments.
• Develops and reviews the plan of care with the clinical team, directing care and coordinating discharge planning and follow-up.
• Participates in education of residents and medical/nursing students and performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
