Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist I to join our testing personnel at 90 Blossom Street. You will perform specimen processing, test analyses and report results under supervision, with orientation and competency assessment on instruments and methods used in the lab.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences, Medical Technology, or Laboratory Sciences; ASCP-BOC credential preferred; 1–2 years lab experience; strong communication and teamwork

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences, Medical Technology or Laboratory Sciences required.
• ASCP certificate preferred for Medical Technologist licensure.
• 1–2 years of laboratory experience is required.
• Must understand laboratory equipment operation and maintenance.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to written protocols and supervisor communication.

Responsibilities

• Follow CLIA procedures for specimen handling, testing, reporting and record-keeping.
• Maintain records showing proficiency testing samples are tested correctly.
• Adhere to quality control policies, calibrations and instrument maintenance.
• Identify problems affecting test performance and notify supervisor or director.
• Document corrective actions when test systems deviate from standards.
