Job summary

Allina Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support providers and nursing staff at AHCI Cancer Center in Minneapolis. You will room patients, manage flow, administer injections, and document in EMR to ensure timely, quality patient care.

These responsibilities require completion of a Medical Assistant program or equivalent, with at least 160 externship hours if needed. A High school diploma and Medical Terminology are preferred; BLS certifications may be required.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience to meet required competencies as listed on the job description.
• Completed a Medical Assistant program or comparable healthcare education program with similar clinical training.
• Fewer than six (6) months of Medical Assistant experience must have completed a minimum of 160 hours of clinical externship or equivalent practicum.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, manage patient flow and obtain adequate medical information/data.
• Collects and confirms patient information via interview, questionnaires, vital signs and documents in EMR.
• Assist with injections and procedures under supervision; provide psycho-emotional support as needed.
• Prepare patients for physician exams and assist with front desk coverage when needed.
• Coordinate results of tests and communicate with providers/RN.
