Job summary

Allina Health in Minnesota seeks a Medical Assistant to support providers and the nursing staff in delivering timely, quality patient care. You will room patients, collect information, document in EMR, and assist with exams.

The role requires completing a Medical Assistant program, BLS certification, and the ability to handle injections and specimen processing. We offer a starting bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Must have completed a Medical Assistant program or comparable healthcare education.
• Candidates with fewer than six months of Medical Assistant experience must have completed a minimum of 160 hours of clinical externship.
• Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required competencies.

Responsibilities

• Rooms patients, manages patient flow and obtains adequate patient information/data.
• Collects and confirms patient information via interview and forms, and documents in EMR according to standards.
• Assists patients pre-exam, including psycho-emotional support and prep.
• Assists with specimen collection and processing; facilitates lab/imaging result communication.
• Works with EMR in basket and responds to messages as delegated; may cover front desk duties.
• Performs patient care tasks as delegated, including injections and procedures.
