Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience to meet required competencies.
• Completed Medical Assistant program or comparable healthcare education with similar clinical training.
• Fewer than 6 months MA experience requires minimum 160 hours of clinical externship or practicum.

Responsibilities

• Rooms patients, manages patient flow and obtains adequate patient medical information/data.
• Collects and confirms patient information via interview, questionnaires, vital signs and documents in EMR.
• Assists patients preparing for physician exam, including psycho-emotional support.
• Assists with collection, labeling, and processing of specimens.
• Facilitates obtaining lab/imaging results.
• Works with EMR basket and responds to messages as delegated by RN or provider.
• May cover front desk and assist with patient registration/scheduling.
• Performs patient care tasks as delegated by Provider or RN.
• Performs injections.
• Assists with procedures.
• Reinforces patient information regarding tests, labs, procedure prep, or treatment plan.
• Coordinates results with provider or RN.
• May prepare refill information for provider review.
• May assist with patient transportation.
